Needing to replace old GE dryer was a tall order as I got many reliable years out of it but knowing people who used Amana was the influence to checking out their products.I wanted a dryer the same size and capacity and on-line research revealed many positive reviews for this particular model.Loads up easily and give a range of options on drying cycles.I did learn that Amana dryers tend to run hotter than most and found this true.A little bit of experimenting will lead the operator to set drying cycles to their needs.My favorite feature is the little access plug you can pull out to observe igniter fire up the burner (having replaced an igniter on my old GE this is a habit I do).I am quite pleased with this dryer.

I had a Roper dryer for 14 years, then I purchased my Amana dry, was so surprised that it took a drying time of 39 minutes just to dry a queen cotton top & bottom sheet with 2 pillowcases. That is way too long to run a dryer just for that, everything else twice as long as the old Roper. I want my old dryer back, but they don't make them anymore. I even had it checked by a technician, he said it was just fine....NOT !
But the energy company will love the fact that I need to use the juice longer... very disappointed. Also the knob seems off, perhaps a design problem

We received the Amana Dryer as a gift and WOW! It can dry our clothes so fast, we can't believe it is done and they are beautiful. They bought us an Amana because that is what our washer is (13 years old), so they would have the same name. Our old dryer was small and we had no clue how long it was taking to dry our clothes. Our NEW AMANA 6.5 cu. ft. Dryer....is the BEST!!

Just got a washer dryer set new, and have been using them both non stop. My clothes come out dry with auto sense setting or timed setting, whatever I prefer.

The dryer initially did not dry the clothes effectively. The dryer vent had to be cleaned before the dryer would dry effectively and in a shorter period of time. Since the dryer does not have an interior light, it makes taking the clothes out cumbersome.

I have owned the dryer for a couple weeks and have used it often.
A very basic looking dryer, nothing eye catching. But, I am most pleased with its drying capabilities. I have dried clothes on all the settings. The auto dry on low heat has been excellent. The two negatives are: the lint catch is on top of the dryer which leaves the dryer with a dusty appearance; and there is no buzzer indicating when the dryer shuts off. Final thought is, for this dryer being the least expensive one, it gets the job done and worth the money!

It's very quiet and dries clothes much quicker than our old dryer. I love the Amana name and best of all USA made! The only thing I would add is a buzzer to let you know when the cycle is done.

There are enough selections to get the job done well, and the settings are great.
I believe simplicity is best; easier operation, longer lasting because there are fewer things to go wrong. Amana knocked it out of the park with this one.

I have had my Amana Dryer for just one week, but I have been happy with the time it takes to dry my clothes, I like the use of "low heat" setting to dry everything, and it is extremely quiet. The only draw back is the door is very difficult to close.

I had bought the new Amana Washer. Then I decided to get the Dryer. It was a great choice. Drys clothes really fast and has lots of different temps to dry any type of fabric you need to dry.

Short term review since we haven't had it very long. The dryer works as expected with basic controls. We purchased it with minimal controls, less to go out down the road. My only constructive comments would be: (1) the lint trap design, when pulled out, leaves dust and lint on top of the dryer. (2) The door catch is cumbersome and hard to close the door.
Otherwise it works great...no like, the thing is running all the time with teenagers in the house.

Running great, very quiet, dry's laundry fast, price was right...I would have preferred the door to open to the left vs right for my location. It just depends where you install it. But it's fine we work around the door opening to the right.

I have used it a couple of times since getting it. Like the title says, it is simple and doesn't text you when the clothes are dry or any other such thing. Simplicity is what I wanted. The only thing that I did not like and changed immediately was the cheap, hard to to close metal clip mounted just inside the door. I removed it with a Phillips screwdriver and put a magnet near to where the catch had been located.The magnet that I used was about the size of a nickel and about 1/4 inch thick. The door now closes gently and there is a nice pull to open the door. Other than that I am pleased with the dryer. No history with this yet, so I hope that I continue to be pleased with it in the future.

I bought this gas dryer to replace my Kenmore gas dryer that was over 25 years old and finally started giving me problems. I know they don't make appliances like they used to, but I'm very impressed with this one. It wasn't super expensive and it seems to work really well. No complaints here!

I brought this dryer from Home Depot two weeks ago because my old one was hanging on for dear life. I loved the price of this dryer. It was about $500. I was excited to give it test, however it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I tested it with a small load of clothes. I put the clothes on timed dry, high heat for 60 minutes. Checked on the clothes an hour later...…...The clothes were still wet. I had to reset at 60 minutes again and it dried. I've used it since then, and nothing has changed. The dryer still doesn't measure up. I don't think I can take it back because I've unboxed it and used it a couple of times. If you have a family and wash clothes regularly, this is not the dryer for you.
